The roots of a Texas landman.
Stephen L. Haynes graduated from Texas A&M University in 1977 and began his career in the Oil and Gas industry in 1979. His 32-year career began in East Texas as an Independent Right-of-Way Agent and soon thereafter became Assistant District Land Manager of Delhi Gas Pipeline. He then returned to his roots in South Texas where he quickly became interested in advancing his knowledge as a Landman. After a number of years as a Field Landman, Steve accepted the position of “Vice President of Land” at Neuhaus Properties, a small, independent oil company in South Texas.
His next career move was to become Land Manager for an oil company in East Texas where he worked in all phases of land work as an in-house Landman. He gained extensive knowledge in putting land plays together, including the acquisition and divestiture of producing and non-producing properties, curative, etc.
Within a few years, he had advanced to Managing and Supervising Landmen in all phases of land work and went on to further his own education and career by attaining his CPL License (#5250).
Mr. Haynes has managed, brokered, supervised and led teams of Landmen all over Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Mississippi for his clients. His knowledge and hands-on experience has expanded into all aspects of the Oil and Gas industry, including Oil, Gas and Mineral Lease Acquisition, Sovereignty Runsheets, Surface and Mineral Ownership Reports, Right-of-Way Acquisition, Due Diligence and the preparation of Pooling Designations and J-O-A’s, etc.
And that’s not all. In addition to land work, Mr. Haynes has worked closely with Surveyor’s and can provide Assistance in both Mapping and Surveying when needed by his clients.
With his extensive background and expertise in the Oil & Gas Industry, Stephen L. Haynes has the leadership skills and wealth of knowledge to understand what it takes for his clients to gain a competitive edge in today’s fast-paced environment.
